The Highlights are up!
August 15th, 2007 . by adminNormally we put up the ceremony, preps, etc and leave the highlights for last. The problem with Amy & Alex’s wedding video is that there is just so much great footage that we couldn’t wait to get started. On top of that, we wanted to enter Amy & Alex’s highlights into an international competition for wedding videographers, however the deadline for entries was the week after their wedding.
After several days of straight editing, we came up with a first draft of their highlights. When we got a chance to get some sleep and come back and look at it again, there was a general consensus that, while it was very good, it could be even better. So, with a day to go before the deadline I started cutting a new version, not sure if we would be able to get it done in time. With the help of Michael proofing the clip online every couple of hours as I was editing, we managed to create, what I would consider to be, hands down, our absolute best highlights in terms of the cinematography. We also finished it just in time and it was sent off with Purolator yesterday evening 15 minutes before their cutoff time for shipments.
Below you will find the final version of their highlights. It is the one we feel has the most emotional impact and flow throughout the piece. I will add version 2 in a couple days so you can see what the rough cut looked like with a different song.

I don’t even know the couple and I was close to tears just watching this video. Hands down to the team who made it. The music selection and the charisma of the couple made this video so moving and I felt like I was a part of their special day as well. Congratulations!

Amy, I was thrilled to hear about your wedding. Janet was kind enough to share the link to the videos, and I must say that they took my breath away. I still remember my friend’s little sister playing with her friends in the schoolyard at Holy Family. It’s amazing to realize how quickly time has passed and to see what a truly beautiful young woman you have grown up to be. Congrats again!

What a beautiful video for a beautiful couple! I think the part that best captures your love for each other, and shows to the world that you are truly soulmates, is that final dip. You can tell how deeply, madly in love you are just from that one brief moment. Congratulations!
